The People in 70 Years
Iwan Sewandono said that the Indonesian independence had a long and illustrious history prociding it, and he was moved to write about it. This expanded the scope of the exhibition's historical coverage. History commemorates the actors the People. Jim Supangkat, is in the opinion that times have changed. In the past, the majority of Indonesian people were silent objects waiting for their fate to be handed to them by people more powerful than them. Today, things have changed. They wish to take an active role in deciding their own fate. The curator Jim Supangkat finally chose "The People in 70 Years" as the title of both the exhibiton and the book. In relations to the exhibiton at OHD Museum, 4 November - 22 February 2016, sponsored by Djarum Foundation, a book will also be published, written by Jim Supangkat dan Iwan Sewandono. This is the first time that a book is written on the history of Indonesia from the Dutch colonial era up to the present-day that is discussed in connection to Indonesian visual art, both modern and contemporary.
